In our digitally transformed society, digital skills have become an integral part of life management and citizenship. While digital rights belong to everyone, some individuals have been left behind due to insufficient skills. We can all contribute to combating digital exclusion. Let’s assist our friends and loved ones, volunteer for digital support, provide feedback on poorly functioning digital services, and view the digital world as an enabler. By learning to recognize who is missing from this landscape, no one will be left on the sidelines or become invisible.
DigiOn - Digital happiness for everyone
The DigiOn project aimed to promote the digital skills of difficult-to-employ individuals by developing easily accessible forms of digital support and related expertise, especially within the operating environments of organizations: meeting places and food aid services. The project aimed to create a volunteer peer support system based on the “digikaveri” (digital buddy) concept, providing low-threshold digital assistance for immigrants and individuals with limited digital skills.
The project’s target groups included volunteer peer supporters, whose digital and workplace skills improved through peer activities, and personnel from organizations and professionals in the social and healthcare sector, whose digital support capabilities were enhanced through training and education within the framework of continuous learning. The project was funded as part of the European Union’s actions in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The project lasted from September 1, 2021, to August 31, 2023.
