Peer support can occur spontaneously when two individuals facing similar life situations meet. It involves sharing experiences, and in a new life context, one person exchanges insights with another who has undergone similar challenges. A peer supporter is someone who has personally experienced a similar situation (such as a life event, crisis, disability, illness, or problem) and has adapted to their own experience.
